Jelmer de Moed (1995) is a passionate clarinettist engaging in many performances and projects. He combines a passion for chamber music and orchestral playing with his own projects in which he engages in interdisciplinary collaborations and commissioned many new pieces. He plays concerts a s a soloist, with orchestras such as Phion and Kamerata Zuid, plays in a set duo with pianist Rik Kuppen and regularly joins the Animato Quartet.

After winning a first prize at the Princes Christina Competition, the Classic Young Masters Award and the Cultuurfonds Young Talent Award he studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He studied clarinet with Arno Piters, Hans Colbers and Martin Spangenberg and chamber-music with prof. Eberhart Feltz.

In 2019 he presented his debut EP Dwaallicht on which he recorded works by Alban Berg and Robert Schumann together with pianist Rik Kuppen. In 2022 his debuut CD with Rik Kuppen will be released by AVROTROS Klassiek with works by Johannes Brahms, Alban Berg and Robert Schumann. He is one of the finalists of this seasons Dutch Classical Talent Award for which he initiated his project NOX. He commissioned new pieces for clarinet and tape by composers Amarante Nat and Tijn Wybenga and created an interactive light installation with cinematographer Boris Peters.
