The British ethnomusicologist Lucy Durán has spent two thirds of her life dedicated to studying Malian music and working with Malian musicians. She is familiar, like no other, with the work of the balafon player Fodé Lassana Diabaté, who will be specially joining us from Mali to demonstrate how one of the oldest instruments in West Africa works.
